MULTATECH provided mechanical, electrical, and architectural design and construction administration services for numerous additions and renovations at the City of Fort Worth’s 166 MGD Village Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (VCWWTP) for more than 15 years. MULTATECH was the prime consultant on several highly complex, innovative projects with combined construction costs in excess of $20 million.
The Turbine Generator project was one of the first applications of its kind in Texas. MULTATECH conducted a feasibility study and designed a twin 5 MW gas turbine generator system which burns digester gas from the plant’s own processes. The ingenious design includes heat exchangers that take waste heat from the turbines and uses it in other plant processes. The Turbine Generator project resulted in improvements in the plant processes and reduced energy consumption. Construction costs for this project were $10 million.
