MULTATECH provided civil design services for two new ammunitions storage "igloos" (magazines) for the US Air Force, administered by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command. Our design included site planning, which incorporated stand-off distances required for 30,000 pounds of explosives in accordance with the Department of Defense munitions safety directives.  It also included layout and structural design of two 26 feet by 80 feet munitions, per Air Force Modular Storage Magazine - Box Type STD 421-80-06. Additional work included the demolition of two existing 300 square foot igloos, grading and drainage, retaining walls, ventilation, lighting, intrusion and fire detection systems and lightning protection.
